Here we have an ultra-clean dress watch by Ulysse Nardin that is all sixties in design.
The fifties were all about ornate, intricate designs. With the turn of the new decade, watch styling became much simpler and minimalist.
This is a great example. Alpha and dagger hands were replaced by slender pencil-style hands like you see here. Faceted arrow-head hour-markers became simple stick indices. The same can be said about the case. Have a look at the sharp, simple lugs, connecting the elegant mid-case to the strap.
This Ulysse Nardin comes with a couple attractive details. Have a look at the applied anchor logo. It is faceted, providing the optical illusion of having been carved into the dial. A tiny magnifying lens over the date, placed on the inside of the plexi crystal is another cool detail. The original pin buckle is still present, adding to the period look of the watch.
As if this is not enough, the original box is also included!
