Throughout the history of Rolex unusual and rare watches sometimes come unexpectedly to the surface. It could be in a safe for years, in a drawer forgotten it was here, it still happens. That is the beauty of the vintage watch business, you never know what the day brings.
This Rolex ref. 8029 is one of those surprises. Made in the early fifties it was a unusual size, luxury brands did not make these size watches post-WWII and in steel, very rare. Gold was more the norm back then and size 33/34mm. So you see this watch is all history. With its original dial still intact, although time has aged it, and the ‘tower’ markers, a real collector’s item.
