IWC Dresswatch Ref. R810A
The dial is always of crucial importance in a vintage watch. Collectors prefer super-clean or beautifully aged specimen over anything in between. This dial clearly falls in the former category. It looks squeeky clean!
The silver dial features vertical brushing and beautifully faceted indices. They play with the light in a very attractive manner.
This watch comes with the characteristic IWC “fish crown”. A fish on the crown indicating the watch was originally sold as water resistant. A fun historic detail is that when IWC tried to register the fish as a trademark, a conflict with the Christian Ichtys symbol stood in the way. The verdict was later overturned, allowing IWC to protect their fish symbol.
This beautiful dress watch comes on the original IWC steel bracelet that looks like the love child of a Jubilee and a beads of rice. Two wide outer links with two decorated double links flanking three narrow center links. All fully articulating individual links.
While this clean IWC leans towards the dressier side, it is a do-it-all watch at heart. From suits to flip-flops, it adds a classical, timeless elegance to any outfit.
