Corum Buckingham 18k

Corum is a brand with a shorter history than for example Patek Philippe or Rolex. The company started in 1955, making high-quality watches. Think of their success called The Admirals cup, the early 1960s. But a big hit was also a  watch made of a solid 20$ coin. Still one of their successors.

The Buckingham series was released in the early 60s as part of the dress watches. It was the first appearance of large-sized watches with the Buckingham model, which asserted itself through its oversized proportions that were extremely innovative at the time.

Bob Feller, a famous baseball player (a pitcher) was the leading man in the advertisement. His hand with a baseball and a Corum Buckingham on his wrist is an iconic picture. The models come with many different dials, some of them hand-painted. Our example has a printed dial with the numbers mentioned in french language. The original box and papers are still there.

We bought this watch from the first owner, it was given as a company gift. Worn it not much and kept it safe all these years. Now 81 years old he wanted to pass it on to a new owner who will enjoy wearing it. So are you looking for something almost NOS and not common, this is the one!

A statement we back up with a 2-year warranty.

With over two decades of experience in vintage watches, we have developed an eye for great quality and great stories. Because we believe every vintage watch tells a story through its unique design, history and patina. A vintage watch is a time-traveling device in that sense. A practical item for daily use, that connects us to something bigger than ourselves at the same time. In an age of single-use goods and quick consumption, a mechanical marvel that is designed to last for generations is quite simply a fantastic thing to have in your life.

At AWCo, we are a diverse team of watch experts, each with their own niche interests and expertise. From history buffs to tech geeks and style gurus, we all approach this beautiful passion from different angles. We operate under the mantra that every vintage watch is unique and so is every client.
