Omega Seamaster de Ville
It was back in the 1960s when Omega decided to offer more dressy alternatives to their sports models (Speedmaster, Seamaster). They coined the “De Ville” designation for this purpose. At first, these watches were a subcategory of the Seamaster range. Later, they branched out into a fully separate collection.
The specimen we have here is of the former category. A Seamaster – De Ville. And it is precisely that. A sporty dress watch. Or maybe a dressy sports watch. In any case, a do-it-all watch. And a great one at that!
It is minimalist and elegant. It has a confident simplicity to its design. No need for frills, it is the quintessential watch shape executed to perfection. The same can be said for the movement. Hand-wound, time only. And what more do you really need? An original Omega beads-of-rice bracelet is the icing on the cake. But this is a real strap monster, so be sure to get a couple of nice leather straps and a strap tool with this one as well! Variety is the spice of life!
