The Omega Speedmaster reference 145.012 is the latest model with the caliber 321 movements. The biggest difference with the predecessor reference 105.012 is the increased height of the ‘pusher caps’. The shape of the chronograph second counter has changed during the production of this reference. The Speedmaster that we offer here has the older type, the later type has a smoothed bottom. It’s all in the details folks!
The popularity of the Pre-Moon Speedmaster has been increasing for a while. In particular the models with the caliber 321 movements. Parts for this timepiece are becoming increasingly scarce and scarcer means more expensive. The DON (Dot Over Nine) bezel (or Dot Diagonal 70) is part of this reference, a characteristic to be able to check the authenticity. This bezel has traces of wear as you can see in the photo.
It is said (Moonwatch Only) that the reference 145,012 was carried by various astronauts including Michael Collins (Apollo 11), Alan Shepard (Apollo 14) and Tom Stafford (Apollo-Soyuz). How beautiful is that !?
It is not often that we have a real pr-moon in our collection. Probably not for long, as said, these Speedmasters are extremely popular!
